Rinteln May Fair
Description
Green light for great funfair days: In Rinteln on the Weser, things get busy on the first weekend in May. The traditional fair attracts visitors from near and far to the historic old town.
This well-known hustle and bustle with over 80 showmen and market traders dates back to 1392, when Count Otto I of Holstein and Schaumburg gave the citizens of Rinteln the privilege of holding two free church masses a year on the day of St. Mary Magdalene.
This is still the case today and family-friendliness is of course the trump card in Rinteln. Whether young and old, families, young people, grandpa and grandchildren - everyone feels at home here and will find their tailor-made programme in the midst of the magnificent Weser Renaissance backdrop.
